March Mindfulness combines the beauty of classical music with a heightened sense of awareness to create an oasis of time and space in the midst of the busy workweek. No prior experience with meditation or classical music is necessary to enjoy and benefit from this series!
Every Wednesday at Noon this March, an instructor from The Innerwork Center will lead an introduction to mindfulness before a classical soloist shares a personal portrait of the music of JS Bach.
March 4 - HyoJoo Uh with Molly Sharpe, Violas
HyooJoo’s set celebrates the power of friendship, turning a solo piece into a spirited collaboration:
“When Andrew asked me to be part of March Mindfulness this year, I replied to him that I would like to play the solo Bach suite as a duet! Molly Sharp, who is my dear friend and the Principal violist of the Richmond Symphony, created a website full of resources for violists. She describes her website as “a place to find resources that make teaching and performing interesting, fun, and collaborative”. Before finalizing the duets, she asked me to read through couple of movements. I instantly fell in love with the way the bass lines were highlighting the solo line! I’m thrilled to play the d minor suite with Molly Sharp as a duet.”
