Soundscape.social

Join us for the second featured concert in soundscape.social, an interactive website that allows listeners to move through a sonic space, enabling musicians and audience members to interact with one another in real time. This project is a collaboration between Classical Revolution RVA and game designer Pat Healy (patwhealy.com), supported by Humanities Engage at the University of Pittsburgh. This concert will premiere between 7:30-8:30pm on March 25th, 2021, but the music on the website will continue to be available until the next iteration of the project. Just follow the url www.soundscape.social on any web browser.

soundscape.social includes different environments for each of the four featured performances. Classical guitarist Denver Walker will be playing a set of beautiful Renaissance lute pieces followed by lush Brazilian arrangements including “Two Note Samba.” Her performances will be set in a snowy forest setting, including surprise interactive elements in the space.

Netherlands-based Albert Manders and Hinse Mutter will be playing an expansive arrangement of one of Mutter’s “cloud” pieces. This flute and bass duo will be featured in an sky setting, and players will be able to enjoy the music from the vantage point of a bird.

Pittsburgh-based jazz duo Ryan Salisbury and Brad Fritcher will be thrilling us with jazz improvisation in a sci-fi cityscape.

Richmond-based flautist Deb Saidel and violinist Treesa Gold will be playing a set of miniatures in an Asian street setting. Audience members will be to interact with lighting components throughout the space.
